Suspected Hoodlums Set INEC Office On Fire In Enugu

Some persons suspected to be hoodlums have burnt down another office of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC in Awgu, Enugu state.

It was gathered that the hoodlums carried out the dastard act early on Sunday morning, burning down a section of office.

With combined efforts from security operatives, the fire was brought under control.

Reacting to the development,  National Commissioner and Chairman, Information and Voter Education, Festus Okoye revealed that the incident was being investigated.

Resident Electoral Commissioner for Enugu State, Mr. Emeka Ononamadu, who reported the attack on the INEC office in Awgu Local Government Area of the State, noted that the section of the building where the electoral materials are kept, was completely burnt down.

 

“Fortunately, all movable election materials were evacuated and there were no casualties.
