EFCC Urges Nigerian Youths to Shun Corruption

ECONOMIC and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), has called Nigerian youths to shun all forms of corrupt practices and embrace the campaign against it.

The Head, Special Control Unit against Money Laundering (SCUML), Kaduna Zonal Command of the EFCC, Ayodepo Kazeem, made the call on Saturday during a public lecture on the Effects of Corruption at the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Kaduna State.

Kazeem told members of the Zero Tolerance for Corruption Club of the university who organized the event, that success in the fight against economic and financial crimes including corruption can only be achieved when stakeholders, especially the youths embrace the fight.

He urged the youths to shun all acts of criminality and embrace hard work as a means to earning legitimate livelihood.

Also, the Head of Public Affairs, EFCC, Kaduna Command, Zainab Sani Ahmed advised members of the Club to adopt the “Eagle Eye App” a mobile App launched recently by the commission, to report any act of corruption encountered in the course of their day-to-day activities.

Chairman of the occasion, Professor Siraj Abdulkarim commended EFCC for participating in the event and advised students to take the fight against corruption seriously, adding that fighting financial crimes is not a joke and the youth must play a role to safeguard themselves and the future of the country.
