Former President Donald Trump’s $350 million judgment in a civil fraud case has sparked a new fundraising campaign on GoFundMe.

Elena Cardone, wife of a private equity fund manager, initiated the campaign, emphasizing what she sees as unfair treatment towards Trump in New York’s judicial system.

Cardone stated, “I stand unwaveringly with President Donald Trump in the face of what I see as unprecedented and unfair treatment by certain judicial elements in New York.”

The fundraiser, titled “Stand with Trump; Fund the $355M Unjust Judgment,” aims to support Trump and his family in challenging the ruling. Cardone emphasized that it’s not just about Trump but about defending the principles of fairness and due process.

She described the fundraiser as a call for solidarity among business owners and entrepreneurs to support Trump, who she believes has consistently advocated American strength and prosperity.

As of Saturday afternoon, the GoFundMe page has garnered over $67,000 in donations.

However, there are also contributions made to make a statement against Trump, highlighting the polarizing nature of the former president.

This isn’t the first time legal funds have been set up for Trump’s defense. His Save America PAC has allocated significant funds to legal expenses since January 2022, with a substantial portion going towards defending him in various legal battles.

Trump’s legal troubles continue to mount, with ongoing cases such as the E Jean Carroll defamation lawsuit. Despite these challenges, Trump’s base remains energized, with his fundraising efforts seeing significant support from supporters.

In response to the recent ruling, Trump has characterized it as “election interference” and called for his supporters to chip in to defend him against what he perceives as unjust legal actions.

As Trump’s legal battles persist, the financial implications and political ramifications remain uncertain, shaping the landscape for his future endeavors and potential influence in American politics.
