Super Falcons to depart Seville for France today

After an interestingly pre-season friendly against Olympic Champions, Canada, on Wednesday, Super Falcons are set to depart their Seville camp in Spain.

Prime Business Africa gathers that the team will depart Spain today, Thursday, aboard Air France to arrive Bordeaux before 11pm tonight.

The delegation of 18 players, four alternate players and officials is scheduled to arrive at the team’s Hotel Mercure abode minutes before midnight

The 2004 quarter-finalists who last featured at the Olympics in 2008 are hoping to re-announce their presence at the Games by emerging from the group where they have been drawn against Brazil, Spain and Japan.

Women’s football began as a demonstration sport at the Atlanta Olympic Games in 1996, but has since become a major sport at the Olympics with good followership as women football continues to improve with every edition.

Super Falcons will flag off their campaign next week Thursday July 25 against Brazil.  The Randy Waldrum tutored side will also do light shape ups as they prepare for the big day.

A win or draw against Brazil will offer the girls a lot of confidence ahead of the two final group matches against world Cup champions Spain and Japan.
