Bosso spoke to sports journalists on his feelings towards the invitation of hid former player to the senior national team.

“I was so excited to know that the Super Eagles manager Eric Chelle was in the U.S to watch some of the matches,” Bosso, who is the current head coach of Bayelsa United noted.

“I’m optimistic that he (Chelle) must have seen Esperance play, and I am convinced that hr would definitely extend an invitation to Onuche based on his performances.

“Onuche has shown in this tournament that he is ready for the next level. His composure under pressure, his ability to dictate the tempo, and intelligent positioning are qualities we need in the Super Eagles midfield right now.

Continuing his assessment of his former player at the FIFA Club World Cup, Bosso added:

“Even at the U-20 level, we know we had something special in Onuche. He was one of our most disciplined and intelligent players.

“It was a very difficult situation for me to drop him before he left for Argentina.

“So when Esperance came asking for a midfielder who could do the job, I didn’t hesitate to recommend him.”

The Nigerian is expected to be in action on Wednesday (2am Nigerian time) as Esperance take on Premier League side Chelsea in their last group game of the FIFA Club World Cup.

Chelsea were beaten 3-1 by Brazilian outfit Flamengo in their last group game on Friday.
