Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX), the stock market authority, reported that the stock market capitalisation jumped to N28.63 trillion on Wednesday, 17 May.
It grew by 0.31 or N87.95 billion, having closed trading the day before at N28.54 trillion market capitalisation.
The All-Share Index pocketed 161.53 basis points to rise from 52,419.33 ASI to 52,580.86 ASI.
By the close of trading on Wednesday, over 680.79 million shares had exchanged investors’ hands in 6,666 deals, valued at N7.89 billion.
This fell short of the 576.85 million traded on Tuesday in 6,143 deals, worth N6.78 billion.
