Bulls Charge Ahead As NGX Shatters Records As Market Cap Surpasses N50trn

About 1.225 billion shares worth N15.243 billion exchanged investors’ hands in 15,317 deals this week.

The total trading value was in contrast to upper week’s 839.978 million shares exchanged in 16,183 deals, valued at N12.418 billion.

Top NGX performing sector

After five days of trading, the Financial Services Industry, by measure of volume led the activity chart with 514.067 million shares valued at N5.104 billion traded in 6,489 deals.

Also making the list is Construction/Real Estate Industry, recording 463.348 million shares worth N1.620 billion in 210 deals.

Conglomerates Industry came third with a turnover of 69.017 million shares worth N86.431 million in 528 deals.

Top three equities

By measure of trading volume, the top three equities for the week are UPDC Real Estate Investment Trust, FBN Holdings Plc and Transnational Corporation Plc.

They accounted for 765.230 million shares worth N4.282 billion in 847 deals, contributing 62.47% and 28.09% to the total equity turnover volume and value respectively.

Top five gainers of the week

BUA Cement stock value gained N14.70kobo as the share price ended the week with N91.70kobo per share against the N77 it opened with.

Royal Exchange closed the week with N0.81kobo per share, rising by 12.50 per cent to move above its opening of N0.72kobo per share.

Ecobank was part of the gainers list as its stock price gained N1.15kobo to move from its opening of N10.05 to end the week with N11.20kobo per share.

Guinness share rose by N6.10kobo during the week as its stock hit N69.30kobo per share against the N63 that it started this week with.

Prestige share appreciated by 9.52 per cent to jump from N0.42kobo per share to N0.46kobo per share.

Top five losers of the week

SCOA topped the losers list following a loss of N0.26kobo, which reduced its stock value to N0.79kobo at the end of trading, from N1.06.

Nigerian Breweries share value dropped to N38.50kobo per share by end of trade this week, having lost N6.50kobo from its opening share price of N45 per share.

Unity Bank lost 14.04 percent from its share to end the week with N0.49kobo per share, below the N0.57kobo per share it started trading with.

Capital Hotel share lost N0.30kobo to end the week with N2.76kobo per share, against the N3.06 per share it started the week with.

Geregu share value also fell during the week, losing N11.80kobo from its opening stock price of N122.80kobo to end trading with N111 per share.
