Stock Market: Top Five Gainers And Losers, As Market Cap Records N46.83 billion

The market capitalisation rose to N27.87 trillion from N27.82 trillion reported on Thursday, after gaining N46.83 billion, due to the 0.16% growth in market share.

After trading hours on Friday, the All Share Index appreciated by 86.88 basis points, to close at 51,705.61 ASI, against the previous day’s 51,618.73.

This was despite a drop in investment into the Nigerian bourse which reported 156.08 million shares were traded on the exchange floor in 4,312 deals worth N1.83 billion, on Friday.

It fell short of the 223.24 million shares exchanged in 4,028 deals on Thursday, worth N2.85 billion.

Top five gainers

  • Champion gained N0.34kobo, after its stock price appreciated from N3.40kobo to N3.74kobo per share.
  • John Holt reported an uptick of 8.62 percent, as its share rose from N0.58kobo to N0.63kobo per share.
  • May & Baker share went up by N0.31kobo, rising to N3.97kobo from N3.66kobo per share.
  • International Breweries saw its share price gain N0.30kobo, increasing to N6 from N5.70kobo per share.
  • First Bank recorded an appreciation of N0.45kobo, after the share went from N10.10kobo to N10.55kobo per share.

Top five losers

  • Livestock share depreciated by N0.14kobo, dwindling from N1.54kobo to N1.40kobo per share.
  • Redstar Express share dropped in value by N0.26kobo, to settle at N2.75kobo from N3.01 per share.
  • Unity Bank followed the same path, losing 8.16 percent after trading hours, to sell at N0.45kobo from N0.49kobo per share.
  • Courtville reported a decline of 6 percent in its share, depreciating from N0.50kobo to N0.47kobo per share.
  • FCMB share lost N0.20kobo from previous day’s N3.50kobo, dropping to N3.30kobo per share.

Top five trading equities

  • At the end of trading, Oando reported 19.32 million shares valued at N110.32 million, were traded on its floor.
  • Linkage Assurance recorded 11.97 million shares valued at N6.34 million.
  • Transcorp saw investors trade 9.11 million of its shares worth N11.39 million.
  • Access Corporation 8.97 million shares worth N85.32 million were exchanged.
  • UBA reported that 8.89 million shares exchanged hands of investors, valued at N66.68 million.
