Bulls Charge Ahead As NGX Shatters Records As Market Cap Surpasses N50trn

Nigerian stock exchange valuation rose by 1.30 per cent to N34.72 trillion on Tuesday, according to a report from the Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX).

NGX report disclosed that the market capitalisation rose from N34.27 trillion reported on Monday, indicating N448.33 billion gain.

The All-Share Index ended trading with 63,766.72 ASI, up by 823.37 basis points, from the previous day’s 62,943.35 ASI.

Over 8,970 deals were recorded on Tuesday after investors traded 868.80 million shares, worth N42.80 billion. 

The volume of shares traded surpassed the 710.01 million shares exchanged on Monday in 8,979 deals, valued at N13.82 billion. 

Top five gainers 

  • Honeywell Flour’s share appreciated by N0.30 kobo to rise from N3 to N3.30 kobo per share.   
  • NEM grew by N0.54 kobo, up from N5.40 kobo to N5.94 kobo per share.   
  • NPF Microfinance Bank ended trading with N1.87 kobo from N1.70 kobo per share, rising by N0.17 kobo.   
  • Eterna gained N2.35 kobo to end trading at N26.05, having opened with N23.70 kobo per share.    
  • PZ’s stock was up by N1.60 kobo, closing at N17.80 kobo from N16.20 kobo per share.   

Top five losers 

  • Japaul Gold depreciated by 10 per cent, dwindling from N0.90 kobo to N0.81 kobo per share.     
  • FTN Cocoa also declined by N0.25 kobo to end trading at N2.29 kobo, after opening at N2.54 kobo per share.     
  • Courtville followed the same path, losing 8.64 per cent after trading hours, to sell at N0.74 kobo from N0.81 kobo per share.     
  • Sovereign Insurance reported a decline of 8.16 per cent from the previous day’s share price of N0.49 kobo to end trading at N0.45 kobo per share.     
  • NSLTECH’s share depreciated to N0.34 kobo from N0.37 kobo, after losing 8.11 per cent during trading hours.   

Top five trading equities in the stock exchange 

  • FCMB reported 153.87 million shares, valued at N956.07 million, were traded on its floor.     
  • Japaul Gold recorded 110.53 million shares valued at N90.94 million.   
  • Dangote Cement saw investors trade 104.88 million shares valued at N35.81 billion.   
  • Access Corporation recorded 49.54 million shares exchanged on its floor, worth N849.23 million.   
  • Fidelity Bank reported 41.90 million shares, valued at N312.59 million, exchanged investors’ hands.
