Prime Business Africa reports that HondaJet has landed an order for its $7 million private jet.

The new Elite II private jet, once in service, promises to be the fastest and longest-ranged plane in its class and can fly up to 485 miles per hour.

It has the capacity to seat  five people.  Prime Business Africa gathered that Private charter company – Volato– has ordered  at least 25 of Honda Jet’s new Elite II business aircraft.

Honda Aircraft Company’s Elite II is said to offer two options for customers, including reimagined cabin designs and a special all-back livery.

Volato says it expects to receive its first HondaJet Elite II next year  in mid 2023, while the last of the order will arrive in 2025.

Recall that the new jet from Honda Aircraft Company was disclosed in October during the 2022 National Business Aviation Convention and Exhibition.

Volato, a start-up private charter company, launched revenue operations in August 2021 and offers customers the choice of being factional owners of one of its planes or to pay for a one-off charter.

Findings shoe that hourly rental rates for the new HondaJet and the G280 begin at $4,000 and $6,550 respectively with some form of discount for owners.

With 17 HondaJet planes in its fleet already, Volato has, through its deal with Honda Aircraft Company, become a big customer to the jet manufacturer.

This means it will operate at least 40 HondaJet planes once the deliveries of the new jet are complete.

Prime Business Africa reports that  the operator has been growing with more aircraft and bases since its 2021 launch, with deep-pocket travelers preferring the Volato option. Its expansion includes another new order for four 10-seater Gulfstream G280 super midsized aircraft to provide more offerings for customers.

”We currently  have more demand than inventory to support,” Chief Executive of Volato, Matt Liotta, said in a report.

Liotta had told Forbes in October that even the Elite II order would not be able to satisfy current demand. ”If Honda would sell us more jets, we would buy more; we would have liked more,” he said.
