Sesko’s Agent Hints Possible Arsenal Transfer Heartbreak

June 18, 2025

The agent of RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko has given an indication that the Slovenian international could remain at the German Bundesliga side this summer.

The 21-year-old striker scored 13 goals last season in the German topflight and has been linked with moves to clubs across Europe and Saudi Arabia.

However Premier League deputy champions Arsenal are widely reported in the English media as having struck an agreement with his representatives ahead of a possible move in the current transfer window.

Arsenal are also weighing up the possibility of signing Sporting Lisbon striker Viktor Gyokores.

While Arsenal’s Sporting Director Andrea Berta continues to explore which of the hitmen arrives at Emirates Stadium before the start of the 2025/2026 season, Sesko’s agent, Elvis Basonovic on Wednesday was quoted by ace Italian journalist, Fabrizio Romano as saying that the striker may or may not depart his current club this summer.

“Let me tell you, Sesko is NOT competing with anyone,” the agent said according to Caughtoffside.com.

“It’s him vs. him every day. We have a clear plan for the future & media speculation doesn’t affect us. Sesko is not just a striker, he is a special striker.”

“His numbers at his age compared to some strikers with already great careers at his age are confirming my words. He will move from RB Leipzig only when we recognise a special club, a special project with a special coach.”

Continuing with his assessment of the stay or exit of his client, Basonovic added:

“This is far from the truth [pressing Leipzig for Sesko to leave for a lower fee to join Arsenal]! We respect Leipzig & I am 100 per cent convinced Leipzig will also respect our decision for the next step when we decide to do it. It can be next week, or next year, or in three years!”

“Even if there may be, or will be, a strong desire of the player to move to a certain club, we will never force or blackmail Leipzig. I believe this is not the right way, because the way you actually exit from the club shows your values.”

Arsenal are expected to decide on which striker they will gun for before the team’s pre season tour begins early July.
