Seplat, Cornerstone Top Gainers’ List, As NGX Market Cap Rises By N60 billion

The stock market capitalisation gained N60 billion on Monday after appreciating by 0.2% to close at N28.21 trillion, rising from N28.15 trillion.

It was driven by the All-Share Index, which rose by 104.82 basis points, to settle at 52,319.94 points, above Friday’s 52,215.12.

At the end of trading on Monday, investors sealed 4,525 deals after exchanging 116.28 million shares worth N3.46 billion.

Investment on the exchange floor was contrast to the 190.09 million shares, worth N4.1 billion, traded in 3,893 deals on Friday.

Top five gainers

  • Seplat gained N130, after its stock price appreciated from N1300.50kobo to N1430.50kobo per share.
  • Cornerstone reported an uptick of 8.77 percent, as its share rose from N0.57kobo to N0.62kobo per share.
  • RT Briscoe share went up by 8.11 percent, rising to N0.40kobo from N0.37kobo per share.
  • Wema Bank saw its share price gain N0.26kobo, increasing to N4 from N3.74kobo per share.
  • Fidson recorded an appreciation of N0.49kobo, after the share went from N9.41kobo to N9.90kobo per share.

Top five losers

  • CWG share depreciated by 10 percent, dwindling from N0.90kobo to N0.81kobo per share.
  • Academy share dropped in value by N0.21kobo, to settle at N2 from N2.21kobo per share.
  • Honeywell Flour followed the same path, losing N0.25kobo after trading hours, to sell at N2.50kobo from N2.75kobo per share.
  • Nahco reported a decline of N0.58kobo in its share, depreciating from N6.58kobo to N6 per share.
  • Regal Insurance share lost 7.41 percent from previous day’s N0.27kobo, dropping to N0.25kobo per share.

Top five trading equities

  • UBA reported 12.92 million shares valued at N96.87 million, were traded on its floor.
  • Zenith Bank recorded 10.67 million shares valued at N235.67 million.
  • First Bank of Nigeria Holdings saw investors trade 8.15 million of its shares worth N88.72 million.
  • Access Corporation recorded 6.71 million shares worth N62.72 million were exchanged.
  • GTCO reported that 5.89 million shares exchanged hands of investors, valued at N125.38 million.
