At the end of trading on Monday, the Nigerian stock market recorded an increase of about N320 billion in equity capitalisation, which is 1.14 per cent growth.

This raised the stock market valuation from N35.88 trillion reported on Friday to N36.20 trillion market capitalisation.

The All-Share Index rose to 66,151.38 ASI, from 65,401.82 index. It appreciated by 749.56 basis points. 

Investors traded 311.11 million shares in 7,193 deals on Monday, valued at N3.91 billion, in contrast to Friday’s 356.01 million shares exchanged in 6,569 deals, worth N4.23 billion.

Top five gainers 

  • Dangote Sugar share appreciated by N4.75 kobo to rise from N47.50 kobo to N52.25 kobo per share.  
  • Omatek grew by 10 per cent, up from N0.30 kobo to N0.33 kobo per share.      
  • Transcorp ended trading with N6.38 kobo from N5.80 kobo per share, rising by N0.58 kobo      
  • Thomas Wyatt gained N0.17 kobo to end trading at N1.87 kobo, having opened with N1.70 kobo per share.       
  • SFS REIT’s share was up by N8.35 kobo, closing at N92.15 kobo from N83.80 kobo per share.  

Top five losers 

  • CWG depreciated by N0.50 per cent, dwindling from N5 to N4.50 kobo per share.        
  • John Holt declined by N0,15 kobo to end trading at N1.38 kobo, after opening at N1.53 kobo per share.        
  • NEM followed the same path, losing N0.54 kobo after trading hours, to sell at N5.12 kobo from N5.66 kobo per share.        
  • NSLTECH reported a decline of 9.09 per cent from the previous day’s share price of N0.33 kobo to end trading at N0.30 kobo per share.        
  • Cutix’s share depreciated to N2.20 kobo from N2.40 kobo, after losing N0.20 kobo during trading hours. 

Top five trading equities in the stock exchange

  • Access Corporation reported that 43.70 million shares, valued at N703.32 million, were traded on its floor.        
  • Transcorp recorded 28.49 million shares valued at N181.73 million.      
  • Dangote Sugar saw investors trade 16.02 million shares valued at N820.84 million.      
  • Consolidated Hallmark Insurance recorded 15.56 million shares exchanged on its floor, worth N13.47 million.      
  • Omatek reported 15.51 million shares, valued at N4.65 million, exchanged investors’ hands.
