Police Approve Burial Of 3 Children Killed, Dumped Inside Fridge In Anambra

Commissioner of Police, Anambra State, CP Ikioye Orutugu, has granted a request for the burial of three children whose lifeless bodies were found inside a refrigerator in Nnewi part of the state recently.

According to a statement by the State Command spokesperson, SP Toochukwu Ikenga, the police commissioner’s authorisation for the burial of the three children was in recognition of grief of the bereaved family.

According to Ikenga, the CP “assured the family of swift Police action when necessary, pending the outcome of the medical findings to complete the ongoing investigation.”

The CP further stated that the Command is working diligently to unravel the circumstances surrounding this heartbreaking incident.

“Given the above, the Command wishes to state that the details of the investigation are still incomplete and urged Ndi Anambra and all concerned to be patient and seeks continuous cooperation from the Community/Area to provide justice for the victims and their families,” Ikenga added.

Prime Business Africa reports that the tragic incident which occurred on Saturday, 1st February 2025, threw the Nnewichi community in Nnewi North Local Government Area of Anambra State into pandemonium.

The slain children, a boy and two girls were aged between five and nine.

 

Some reports said hoodlums invaded the residence while the children were eating, killed them and dumped their bodies in a freezer inside their apartment.

 

Prime Business Africa gathered that their father, Udochukwu Ejezie, works in Edo State and their mother, Chikazor Ejezie, is a lecturer and nurse.

Their father was away in Edo State while the mother had gone to work when the incident happened.

Their bodies had been in the morgue since then.
