President Tinubu, Shettima Update Twitter Profiles Following Inauguration

Following their official inauguration as President and Vice-President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Bola Tinubu and Kashim Shettima wasted no time in updating their Twitter profiles to reflect their new roles.

This swift action demonstrates the growing significance of social media platforms in the realm of politics and governance. Tinubu, who assumed office on May 29, already boasts an impressive following of 1.9 million on Twitter, while Shettima has accumulated over 200,000 followers.

In a simple yet powerful change, President Tinubu modified his Twitter bio to read, “President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.”

This alteration not only signifies his new position but also serves as a clear message to his followers and the Nigerian public that he is ready to embark on the arduous task of leading the nation.

Likewise, Vice-President Kashim Shettima, known for his previous senatorial and gubernatorial roles, updated his bio to read, “Vice-President, Federal Republic of Nigeria/ former senator, Borno central district/ former governor of Borno state.”

Both Tinubu and Shettima emerged victorious in the February 2023 presidential election, as declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission.

Their victory is, however, being challenged in court by leading candidates in the 2023 presidential election, Mr Peter Obi of the Labour Party (LP) and Atiku Abubakar of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP)
