Peseiro Resigns, NFF Set To Offer Portuguese New Contract 

Super Eagles coach in the shortlist for Algerian job

The Nigeria Football Federation has opened contract talks with Super Eagles head coach Jose Peseiro as his contract with the three-time African champions came to an end on February 29.

The Portuguese is attracting the interest of teams in the African continent and parts of Europe and has confirmed that he is a free agent.

Algeria has already named Peseiro in a three-man shortlist for the Algerian national team.

However feelers from the Glass House indicate that the NFF are keen on having him extend his deal until at least the next Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco expected to hold in the summer of 2025.

Peseiro receives a €50 million salary and the NFF is keen to maintain that after his initial €70 million emoluments was cut.

Super Eagles players are said to have expressed their desire to have the former Venezuela and Saudi Arabia coach continue in t he saddle.
