The race for the signature of Super Eagles of Nigeria top striker Victor Osimhen has taken an interesting twist as Turkish pundit and YouTuber Ugur Karakullukcu has lambasted Chelsea legend and former African Footballer of the Year Didier Drogba for his efforts in making the Nigeria international consider a move to Chelsea.

Osimhen helped the Turkish side while on loan to retain their topflight title as he scored 26 league goals and a further six in the Europa League.

The former Wolfsburg and Lille star assisted five goals in the Turkish league and once in the Europa League to bring his Goals contributions for the season to 38.

Osimhen this week turned down the fifth offer from Saudi Pro League giants Al Hilal as he reportedly holds out for a move to an European club.

Drogba and Osimhen’s fellow Nigerian, John Mikel Obi, who spent nine successful seasons at Chelsea have both been trying to convince him to sign for the Blues who will play at the FIFA Club World Cup in the USA.

Chelsea also qualified for the UEFA Champions League by finishing fourth in the Premier League albeit had won the UEFA Conference League.

Speaking via his YouTube channel, the pundit dragged Drogba for trying to persuade Osimhen to drop a possible permanent transfer to the Red-Yellows

“Also Didier Drogba wants Osimhen to play for Chelsea. Drogba also wants to spoil the deal,” Karakullukçu said.

“His words about Mourinho had already made him lose favor with the fans. Drogba will never be valued by Galatasaray fans as much as Mario Jardel and Mauro Icardi.

“If you are going to seduce Osimhen and take him to Chelsea, shame on you. He should have remained neutral.”

Chelsea have signed former Ipswich Town striker Liam Delap but are keen to add to their firepower before the start of next season.

The Blues are still hopeful of also reaching an agreement with Borussia Dortmund for the signing of Jamie Gittens.
