There were pockets of protests by other aspirants who alleged that the exercise was not free and fair.

During the radio programme, Duru commended the Chairman of the Ondo State APC Gubernatorial Primary Election, and Governor of Kogi State, Ahmed Usman Ododo; the Secretary of the Committee, the former Deputy Senate President, Sen. Ovie-Omo Agege and other members of the Committee “for conducting a free, fair and transparent primary election.”

He said: “I urged the Governor to close ranks and commence the process of reconciliation with the other 15 aspirants who contested against him so that the party can approach the general election as a united family.”

The APC chieftain remarked that the outcome of the primary election held across the 203 wards of the State shows how popular the ruling party is in the South West state.

“Indeed, this performance will be replicated during the general election so that Ondo State will remain a Progressive State,” the seasoned entrepreneur asserted.
