“It is an honour to portray Grace Eniola Soyinka and to bring her story to audiences worldwide. She was not only a devoted mother but also a fearless advocate for justice and equality. I am honoured to have the opportunity to embody her spirit and showcase her legacy to the world,” Dada said.

Dada’s portrayal highlights the challenges Soyinka’s mother faced against systemic injustice. Her performance showcases Grace Eniola Soyinka’s bravery, love, and sacrifices for her family.

Grace Eniola Soyinka, along with her sister-in-law Funmilayo Ransome-Kuti, founded the Abeokuta Women’s Union to fight the excessive taxes imposed by the Alake of Abeokuta. “Funmilayo Ransome-Kuti,” directed by Bolanle Austen-Peters and Ibrahim Taofik, tells the story of Funmilayo Ransome-Kuti, the mother of Afrobeat legend Fela Anikulapo-Kuti. The film covers her journey from being the first female student at Abeokuta Grammar School to her activism alongside her husband, Israel Ransome-Kuti.

The film has a stellar cast including Joke Silva, Kehinde Bankole, Adunni Ade, Iyimide Ayo-Olumoko, Ibrahim Suleiman, and Iremide Adeoye.
