Out-of-favour Super Eagles goalkeeper Maduka Okoye could earn a comeback to the Nigerian national team following the inability of Hapoel Jerusalem goalkeeper Adebayo Adeleye to join the team in Portugal ahead of the international friendlies against Saudi Arabia and Mozambique, Prime Business Africa gathered.

Okoye, the younger brother of music sensations and twin brothers, Peter and Paul Okoye (Psquare) has not been part of the team for a 20-month period after his gaffe gifted Tunisia a 1-0 win in the round of 16 of the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon.

The Udinese of Italy custodian was an unused substitute in the 4-0 drubbing of the team in an international friendly against Portugal on 17 November 2022 and has not been considered for 13 matches played subsequently by the team coached by Jose Peseiro.
