Obi Mourns Labour Party Zonal Chairman’s Death In Auto Accident

Labour Party presidential candidate, Mr Peter Obi has expressed sorrow for the death of Mallam Lawal Garba, the party’s zonal chairman in Kaduna State.

Garba died on Monday night in a fatal road car crash along the Kaduna-Zaria road on his way back home from the Labour party’s engagement with Northern stakeholders in Arewa House, Kaduna.

Obi was in Kaduna State on Monday to address the stakeholders at the Arewa House where he hinted on his leadership blueprint. 

In a tweet on Tuesday, Obi said, “I’m shocked by the news of the sudden and tragic death of Mallam Lawal Garba last night in a fatal vehicular accident.

“Mallam Garba was in attendance at the Arewa House interactive session. His death is a huge loss to his family, the Labour Party family in Kaduna State and the Kaduna people. I pray for the peaceful repose of his soul and that God Almighty will grant his family the fortitude to bear this huge loss.

He described Garba as a great party leader, adviser to the Labour Party in the planning and prosecution of the Presidential Campaigns.

Garba was said to have joined other party stakeholders to see off the presidential candidate and his running mate, Datti Baba Ahmed to Kaduna Airport enroute to Abuja and was returning home when the unfortunate incident occured.
