Speaking while presenting the award, National Coordinator of the Groups, Comrade James Okoronkwo stated that the award was in honour of the APC scribe’s steadfast commitment to the enhancement of equity and internal democracy in the party.

“The Coalition of Civil Society Groups for Peace, Security, Good Governance, Equity, and Justice is lauding you for your doggedness, courage, patriotism, and commitment to the ethics of democracy.

‘’It is noteworthy that you rallied the APC National Working Committee (NWC) to create the enabling environment for the party’s 2022 Presidential Primary Election, which produced Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the Party’s Presidential candidate for the 2023 general election. We are proud of you and the entire APC NWC members. With this singular achievement, you saved the APC from imploding.’’

Responding after receiving the award, Nze Duru expressed appreciation to the Groups for finding him worthy of the award, adding that the award is not for him alone but to all APC members for their unwavering support for the Party.

He expressed optimism that the party would win the 2023 general election and go ahead to form the government in the country in order to continue to provide good governance, infrastructural development, poverty reduction, and best leadership that would meet their wishes and aspirations in line with the party’s manifesto.

“This kind of award will continue to spur us to do the right thing. Please, continue to support us so that we can further strengthen internal democracy and provide the dividends of democracy to our people,” he enthused.
