We know that actors Kanayo O. Kanayo, Funke Akindele and Kenneth Okonkwo are trained lawyers. They are A-listers in the movie industry.

In fact they are also into politics along with a few others like Richard Mofe Damijo, Hilda Dokubo, Bob-manuel Udokwu, Jibola Dabo, Kate Henshaw, Tonto Dike etc.

We know that Genevieve Nnaji has her own clothing brand called St Genevieve.

However there are others whose side hustles are not actually mentioned in the media.

They are not out of people’s consciousness but the point made is that not so many Nigerians are aware of these sides to these stars.

These side hustles were either done previously or is still ongoing.

1. Jerry Amilo

The actor who acts the bad boy role perfectly in Nollywood movies unknown to most Nigerians have tried his hands on car importation.

The actor who miraculously survived a serious auto accident and was presumed dead after multiple somersaults has made his mark in Nollywood movies.

However ‘Miracle’ as he is affectionately called after this incident had tried his hands in the automobile business and was cited at the Tincan Island in the year 2000 with clearing agents undergoing the processes of having his wheels cleared.

2. Iyabo Ojo

The actor turned producer owns a local restaurant in the highbrow Lagos area of Lagos.

The restaurant offers Nigerian foods on their menu.

As a stylish lady, one with huge fan base, Ojo also owns a Spa and skin care shop.

3. Chinyere Wilnifred

The actress Chinyere Winifred has several years of experience to her credit in the movie industry.

Winifred mainly acts royalty in most of her movies.

But do you know this actress has another passion that earns her some extra money?

It must however be added that it is unconfirmed if she’s still into this.

In the Dopemu area of Lagos, the actress owns(ed) a beauty saloon that thrived.

Ghana weaving as done mainly by male hair stylists was popular.

4. ‘Princess’

Damilola Adekoya, better known as Princess in the entertainment industry owns a restaurant.

This writer actually patronised her during the 2021 Lagos Trade Fair at the Tafewa Balewa Square where she put up a stand.

5. Sydney Diala

This is another thespian whose side hustle this writer had first hand knowledge about.

In early 1994 at the Customs Barracks at Seme Border, veteran actor Sydney Diala few months after starring in the blockbuster movie, Living in Bondage was the cynosure of all eyes as he made his way to Benin Republic to go buy some clothings with a lady.

Diala disclosed it was for sale while assuring that all cast and crew of the movie produced by Kenneth Nnebue (NEK Videos) were in good health and alive as he fielded questions from this writer (then not a journalist) and other fans.
