Nigeria’s U-18 Women’s Handball Team Departs For Abidjan Ahead IHF Trophy Africa Continental Phase

Nigeria’s women’s handball national team head coach, Shittu Adewunmi Agboola has picked the final list of players that will represent Nigeria at the IHF Trophy Africa Continental Phase which will hold in Abidjan, Ivory Coast.

The Nigeria Girls Under 18 Handball Team jetted out on Monday, to Abidjan, Ivory Coast to participate in the continental which commences tomorrow August 8 to the 19th of August 2023.

Top on the list is captain Esther Matthew alongside the Babatunde twins of Seasider Babes of Lagos a and goalkeeper Precious Samuel of Rima Strikers.

Others on the list include Bayelsa Queens player Vera John, Damilola Akinlade of Delta Force and Amina Mohammed of Rima Queens amongst others.

The team list is largely comprised of players that triumphed at the IHF Trophy Africa Zone 3 tourney which held in Accra, Ghana.

Nigeria will be playing in the under 18 category alongside Guinea, Madagascar and Rwanda and their first match will be against Guinea at 7pm on Tuesday August 8, 2023

All matches will be played at the Centre ivoiro – coréen sports hall in Abidjan, Ivory Coast.

The winner of the competition will represent Africa in the international phase of the IHF Trophy.
