Deeper Life High School (DLHS) has announced that over 174 students scored 300 and above in the 2024 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

In a post on its Facebook page on Friday, the school said: “Despite JAMB’s announcement that only around 0.5% of candidates nationwide scored 300 and above in the 2024 UTME, an astounding one hundred and seventy-four (174) students of Deeper Life High School (DLHS) exceeded expectations with flying colors by scoring 300 and above.”

Highest Scorer in 2024 UTME

Last year, the school produced the highest scorer in UTME across the country. Kamsiyochukwu Umeh,  emerged as the highest scorer for the 2023 UTME with a total of 360 points.

James Williams said the school is known for Zero tolerance for examination malpractice.  He wrote: “Here we f—king go!!!! 🎊Only 0.4% of UTME candidates scored above 300. Deeper Life High School, my alma-mater, produced 174 of them. Do you know how incredibly impressive that is in a nation that is in a state of academic emergency? I told you that when our results show up, this space will shake up and it’s simply because DLHS have developed a model for education that simply works.  Zero tolerance for examination malpractice. An environment where only excellence is rightly rewarded and mediocrity rightfully scorned. Man, you need to be a student or staff there to understand how intensely competitive DLHS is.

“I was there. On the highest levels, I competed. Therefore, I know. If there is any lesson DLHS’ constant show of excellence has for the larger society, it is this: ‘Never deride excellence. Celebrate it wherever it is found. And you’ll naturally see kids do all they can to be found under excellence’s light.’

“DLHS honors excellence and it makes so much sense that students do all they can to attain it and you see that fuel, they hardly ever lose it — you can check the Best Graduating Student lists of top private universities and you’ll see what I’m talking about. Congratulations to DLHS and everyone – staff (teaching and non-teaching), students, Principal officers, and Alumni who have contributed their quota to making this happen. We are proud of you all.”Clear the road for the school wey sabi.”

Others like Emmanuel Partha Musa, a Facebook user called on the government to improve the educational system in Nigeria by emulating the school and seeking to know what the school is doing differently “What’s inside this deeper life high school? What are their teachers doing that those outside this school are not doing? The Nigerian government should try before it’s too late to learn where they are wrong and then get the right path from this institution. A big congratulations to these students and may God bless their teachers and the administrators for making heroes and heroines out of these kids,” he stated.

Chika Ibeawuchi, another Facebook user said: “DLHS is where a child can make it academically, socially, and morally. Enroll your ward today to join the champions.” She further called on parents to enroll their children for academic excellence.

Amidst the whole congratulatory messages, Nigerians are calling on the government to make a change in the education sector so that there will be more academic success recorded in different schools across the country.

Solomon Tai Okajare called on parents and students to be more serious with their wards and their academics so as to be an inspiration for many.

“This is awesome and phenomenal! What an inspiration for a potential student and huge conviction for potential parents!! The fees are very huge, but these results are excellent returns on investment. Hearty congratulations to the Champions”

Ada Julia Obia applauded the school for its commendable effort saying: “Vanguard of intellectuals, nurtured for the best. Integrity, integrity and integrity should be our next agenda in Nigeria. What you merit will always speak for you wherever you go even in the face of contradictions. I pray they keep the culture and impact our society positively. Well done to the management who didn’t take the path of our society’s negative skewness but upheld uprightness”.
