The Nigerian Exchange (NGX) said the market capitalisation of the stock market increased to N139.82 trillion on Friday, April 17.
According to the NGX, the market capitalisation increased by N3.39 trillion when compared to the N136.43 trillion recorded on Thursday, April 17.

Traders exchanged 1.25 billion shares in 56,923 deals, valued at N54.35 billion, exceeding the 584.96 million shares traded in 45,559 deals, valued at N34.75 billion, on Thursday.
Top five gainers
- NAHCO’s share price increased by N20, from N200 to N220 per share.
- TransExpress’ share value grew by N0.55 kobo, from N5.50 kobo to N6.05 per share.
- Ecobank’s share appreciated by N6.10 kobo to end trading at N67.30 kobo, having opened with N61.20 kobo.
- Access Holdings ended trading at N29.90 kobo per share, from N27.20 kobo per share – indicating an increase of N2.70 kobo.
- DAARCOMMS’ share value was up by N0.16 kobo, after closing at N1.82 kobo from N1.66 kobo per share.
Top five losers
- Mecure share price depreciated by N6.70 kobo, dwindling from N67.30 to N60.60 kobo per share.
- Honeywell Flour recorded a N2 decline in its share price to end trading at N19 after opening with N21 per share.
- Abbey Mortgage Bank lost N0.85 kobo in its share price after trading hours, to sell at N8.10 from N8.95 kobo per share.
- ETranzact recorded a N1.90 kobo decline in its share price to end trading at N18.60 kobo after opening with N20.50 kobo per share.
- Caverton reported a decline of N0.55 kobo from the previous share price of N6.10 kobo to end trading at N5.55 kobo per share.

- Sterling Financial Holding Company reported that 383.84 million shares valued at N3.06 billion were traded on its floor.
- Access Holdings recorded 90.25 million shares valued at N2.64 billion.
- Zenith Bank saw investors trade 70.75 million of its shares valued at N8.84 billion.
- UBA recorded 54.58 million shares exchanged on its floor, worth N2.62 billion.
- Japaul Gold reported that traders exchanged 44.44 million shares valued at N146.36 million.
