Nigeria Players Scorecard: Lookman, Orban, Akpom, Eze The Top Performers

Nigerian players were in action for their clubs across Europe with the duo of Ademola Lookman and Gift Orban putting in great performances as the standout players.

Super Eagles forward Ademola Lookman scored a 90th minute goal for Atalanta as they beat Cremonese at the Stadio Giovani Zini on Saturday.

The former Fulham and Leicester City star scored in added time before the game’s final whistle. He came on from the substitutes bench in the 46th minute in place of Colombian forward Luis Muriel.

It was Lookman’s 13th Serie A goal of the season.

Fellow Nigerian, David Okereke was not listed by Cremmonese but striker Cyriel Dessers came off the bench in the 74th minute for Italian midfielder, Marco Benassi.

Super Eagles prospect, Caleb Okoli was an unused sub for Atalanta.

Super Eagles prospect, Gift Orban who is expected to make his Nigeria debut in the next round of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers scored a brace in the first half and also had an assist as Gent defeated Seraing in the Belgian Pro League on Saturday evening at the Stade du Pairay.

The game ended 5-0 in favour of Gent with Orban subbed off in the second half. Unknown Nigerian, Ejaita Ifoni was on the subs bench for the opposition.

Nigerian-born German defender JordanTorunarigha got the fourth in the five-goal blitz.

Eze was on target for Crystal Palace in their 2-1 win over Leicester City at Selhurst Park.

Chuba Akpom scored a 74th minute goal for Middlesbrough in the Championship as the Riverside club lost 4-2 to home side, Huddersfield Town.
