Nigeria Entertainment Industry Gathers For Late Sammie Okposo

Fans, family and friends of late gospel singer Sammie Okposo will hold a commemorative ‘Evening Of Music’ on Saturday, 10th December 2022 in his honour, reports Prime Business Africa.

The event Prime Business Africa gathered feom a source in the movie industry will take place at the *Kulture Yard*, 2b Abba Johnson Crescent, Off Adeniyi Jones Street, Ikeja, Lagos.

The initiative is the brainchild of the ‘Creative Industry Group’ and some of Nigeria’s gospel music stars are expected to serenade guests to both their works and those of the late Okposo.

As at the time of this report, Prime Business Africa has not confirmed  on authority the artistes expected to be present on Saturday evening.

The event begins at 5p.m Nigerian time.

The family of the late artist had released date for the funeral which is scheduled to hold on 15th December, 2022.

Okposo who was aged 51 according to the information made public by his family and personal assistant, died in his sleep.

The ‘Welu Welu’ master was enmeshed in an infidelity scandal with a lady in the United States of America but admitted to the indiscretion by tendering a public apology on social media to his wife, Ozioma.

Okposo had declared then that he will step aside from gospel ministration through his songs prior to his demise.

Okposo’s death brings to three the number of top Nigerian gospel artistes who died in the year 2022 following the deaths of Ada Jesus and Osinachi Nwachukwu.

Okposo made headlines with his soul-lifting songs and had been a key player in the music industry for over two decades.

There has not been an official statement from his estranged wife, Ozioma, since the death was announced.
