NGX Suspends Trading In Unity Bank, Guinea Insurance, 6 Other Companies’ Shares

On Tuesday, January 20, the Nigerian Exchange (NGX) market capitalisation increased by N93.48 billion to N106.43 trillion, from the N106.34 trillion reported on Monday, January 19.

The all-share index (ASI) expanded by 144.32 basis points, from 166,112.5 ASI to 166,256.82 ASI.

Traders in the stock market traded 795,45 million shares, valued at N19,97 billion, in 45,410 deals, against the 629.60 million shares exchanged in 57,858 deals, worth N14.75 billion, on Monday.

Top five gainers

  • NPF Microfinance Bank’s share price increased by N0.43 kobo to rise from N4.30 kobo to N4.73 kobo per share.
  • Redstar Express’ share value grew by N1.45 kobo, from N14.50 kobo to N15.95 kobo per share.
  • Deap Capital ended trading at N5.39 kobo per share, from N4.90 kobo per share – indicating an increase of N0.49 kobo.
  • NCR gained N14.10 kobo to end trading at N155.50 kobo, having opened with N141.40 kobo.
  • Morison’s share value was up by N0.62 kobo, after closing at N6.84 kobo from N6.22 per share.

Top five losers

  • ALEX’s share price depreciated by N1.90 kobo, dwindling from N19.10 kobo to N17.20 kobo per share.
  • Jaiz Bank recorded a N0.79 kobo decline in its share price to end trading at N7.21 kobo after opening with N8 per share.
  • FTN Cocoa lost N0.65 kobo in its share price after trading hours, to sell at N7.05 from N7.70 kobo per share.
  • UPDC recorded a N0.50 kobo decline in its share price to end trading at N5.70 kobo after opening with N6.20 per share.
  • Caverton reported a decline of N0.45 kobo from the previous day’s share price of N8.05 to end trading at N7.60 kobo per share.

  • Tantalizer reported that 86.96 million shares valued at N300.92 million were traded on its floor.
  • NSLTECH recorded 74.15 million shares valued at N87.55 million.
  • ZICHIS saw investors trade 69.6 million of its shares valued at N138.50 million.
  • Zenith Bank recorded 49.10 million shares exchanged on its floor, worth N3.53 billion.
  • GTCO reported that traders exchanged 39.05 million shares valued at N3.79 million.
