NGX Market Cap Rises By N2.92bn, Sovereign Insurance Leads Gainers’ List

On Monday, December 15, the Nigerian Exchange (NGX) Limited slightly increased by N2.92 billion to N95.267 billion, from N95.264 trillion recorded on Friday, December 12.

In the same vein, the all-share index (ASI) appreciated slightly to 149,437.88, from 149,433.25 ASI.

About 553.16 million shares were exchanged in 28,907 deals, worth N13.26 billion, compared to the previous day’s 571.68 million shares traded in 20,418 deals, valued at N29.04 billion.

Top five gainers

  • Sovereign Insurance’s share price increased by N0.34 kobo to rise from N3.40 kobo to N3.74 kobo per share.
  • Guinness’ share value grew by N21.70 kobo, from N217.80 kobo to N239.50 kobo per share.
  • Mecure ended trading at N41.70 kobo per share, from N37.95 kobo per share – indicating an increase of N3.75 kobo.
  • First HoldCo gained N3.10 kobo to end trading at N34.55 kobo, having opened with N31.45 kobo.
  • AIICO’s share value was up by N0.34 kobo, after closing at N3.79 kobo from N3.45 kobo per share.

Top five losers

  • Prestige’s share price depreciated by N0.17 kobo, dwindling from N1.70 kobo to N1.53 kobo per share.
  • LOTUSHAL15 recorded a N7.95 kobo decline in its share price to end trading at N81.05 after opening with N89 per share.
  • FTN Cocoa lost N0.40 kobo in its share price after trading hours, to sell at N4.50 kobo from N4.90 kobo per share.
  • Guinea Insurance recorded a 7.69 percent decline in its share price to end trading at N1.08 after opening with N1.17 kobo per share.
  • Royal Exchange reported a decline of N0.14 kobo from the previous day’s share price of N1.93 kobo to end trading at N1.79 kobo per share.

  • FCMB reported that 92.03 million shares valued at N963.94 million were traded on its floor.
  • Access Holdings recorded 67.92 million shares valued at N1.36 billion.
  • Consolidated Hallmark Insurance saw investors trade 50.78 million of its shares valued at N208.80 million.
  • Fidelity Bank recorded 35.76 million shares exchanged on its floor, worth N672.40 million.
  • Jaiz Bank reported 29.70 million shares valued at N134.06 million exchanged in investors’ hands.
