NGX Investors Trade N27.91bn Shares, Market Cap Closes At N111.65trn

On Monday, February 9, over N1.42 trillion was gained in the Nigerian Exchange (NGX), also known as the stock market, pushing the bourse’s capitalisation to N111.65 trillion.

The market capitalisation closed at N110.23 trillion on Friday, February 6.

This followed an expansion of 2,218.73 basis points in the all-share index, which appreciated from 171,727.49 ASI to 173,946.22 ASI.

Equity traders exchanged 775.17 million shares in 65,960 deals, worth N27.91 billion, compared to Friday’s 953.76 million shares traded in 51,005 deals, worth N43.08 billion.

Top five gainers

  • FGSUK2031S4’s share price increased by N19.79 to rise from N81.14 kobo to N100.93 kobo per share.
  • FGSUK2033S6’s share value grew by N20, from N100 to N120 per share.
  • May and Baker ended trading at N43.45 kobo per share, from N39.50 kobo per share – indicating an increase of N3.95 kobo.
  • CAP’s share appreciated by N8.20 kobo to end trading at N90.20 kobo, having opened with N82.
  • DAAR Communications’ share value was up by N0.19 kobo, after closing at N2.09 from N1.90 kobo per share.

Top five losers

  • Eunisell’s share price depreciated by N14.95 kobo, dwindling from N149.80 kobo to N134.85 kobo per share.
  • Tripple Gee recorded a N0.65 kobo decline in its share price to end trading at N6.65 kobo after opening with N7.30 kobo per share.
  • Abbey Mortgage Bank lost N1.20 kobo in its share price after trading hours, to sell at N13.75 kobo from N14.95 kobo per share.
  • Austin Laz recorded a N0.40 kobo decline in its share price to end trading at N5 after opening with N5.40 kobo per share.
  • HMCall reported a decline of N0.28 kobo from the previous day’s share price of N4.27 kobo to end trading at N3.99 kobo per share.

Top five trading equities

  • Access Holdings reported that 67.14 million shares valued at N1.54 billion were traded on its floor.
  • Zenith Bank recorded 46.24 million shares valued at N3.43 billion.
  • NSLTECH saw investors trade 43.94 million of its shares valued at N47.86 million.
  • Veritas Kapital recorded 39.37 million shares exchanged on its floor, worth N91.60 million.
  • Mutual Benefit reported that traders exchanged 33.89 million shares valued at N145.66 million.
