New Anambra Police Commissioner, Itam, Reiterates Plan For Better Security

The new Commissioner of Police in Anambra State, CP Nnaghe Obono Itam, has reiterated his resolve to ensure better security service delivery through the respective Area Commands and tactical Units in the state.

The CP who addressed police officers in his office at the Command Headquarters, Awka, charged them to to be more responsive and committed to duty.

He ordered the creation of training scheme for officers at the Area Command level to retrain Officers serving in the Police Divisions in areas of Police duties, musketry, and otherwise.

 

According to a statement by Command Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, CP Itam emphasised the need for the police to work with other security agencies for effective response to security challenges in the State.

According to the spokesperson, the CP thereafter paid a courtesy visit to the Assistant Inspector General of Police Zone 13 Headquarters, AIG Godwin Aghaulor, PSC (+), who is the supervisory Commander of both Anambra and Enugu Commands, to notify him of his assumption of office, and also familiarize with the senior officers of the Zone.

In attendance during the visit included, the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Finance & Administration of the Zone, DCP Agili Joseph, Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Operations DCP Sylvester Adeji, Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Criminal Investigations of the Zone DCP Iya Muhammed, and others.
