Naira Further Appreciates Across FX Market After Sallah Celebration

Naira Opens Week With Gain Across FX Markets

The Nigerian naira recorded significant appreciation at the foreign exchange market on Tuesday, 10 June 2025, being the first trading day after the Ed-el-Kabir celebration.

The naira traded N1,540.048 against the United States Dollar at the Nigeria Foreign Exchange Market (NFEM) on Tuesday, according to the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) data.

This reflects N13.07 gain when compared to N1,553.11 per dollar it traded on Thursday. The CBN data traded between a high of N1,557.98 and a low of N1,532.00.

The naira also appreciated at the black market to N1,600 on Thursday, from N1,610 per dollar previously.

Prime Business Africa reports that the naira maintained a positive trajectory in the foreign exchange market, recording a two-month high at the close of trading last week.
