NACCIMA, GABA Sign MoU To Strengthen Nigeria-USA Bilateral Ties

The Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines, and Agriculture (NACCIMA) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Global African Business Association (GABA), to strengthen business partnerships between Nigeria and Michigan in the United States.

NACCIMA National President, Dele Kelvin Oye, while sealing the deal at the Michigan State Capitol in Lansing, United States, said the MOU will explore investments and public-private partnerships to support economic growth and showcase Nigeria’s readiness for increased international trade and market access.

The signing was witnessed by Senator Sarah Anthony, the first African-American woman elected to both the Michigan House of Representatives and Senate, who also chairs the Senate Appropriations Committee, as well as Senator Erika Geiss, a prominent figure in Michigan’s legislature, along with other NACCIMA and GABA delegates.

According to Oye, “The Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA) has signed a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Global African Business Association (GABA) at the Michigan State Capitol in Lansing.

“This MOU marks a significant milestone in strengthening economic ties between Nigeria and Michigan.”

On the impact of the partnership to Nigerian businesses, the NACCIMA President stated, “This partnership presents a unique opportunity for Nigerian businesses to connect with their counterparts in the United States, particularly in the areas of automotive, agricultural technology, and mobility.”

He added, “We are committed to fostering relationships that will promote sustainable growth and investment in both regions.”

Earlier, in a statement to announce the partnership between NACCIMA and GABA, Akindele Akinyemi, the President of GABA, said the collaboration represents a critical step in strengthening the economic bridge between Michigan and Nigeria.

He stated, “The opportunities for trade, investment, and collaboration in areas such as mobility and smart city development are immense. We look forward to working closely with NACCIMA to foster meaningful connections that will benefit both regions for years to come.”
