MRS, Neimeth, Others Lift Stock Market Cap By N851.22bn

Over N851.22 billion gain was recorded in the Nigerian stock market on Monday, with the bourse’s capitalisation closing at N35.17 trillion, up from N34.32 trillion.

The All-Share Index appreciated by 2,583.81 basis points from 62,019.88 ASI to 64,603.69 ASI.

On the exchange floor, investors exchanged N22.03 billion in 14,584 deals, for 1.83 billion shares. 

The value of investment recorded on Monday surpassed that of Friday when N13.84 billion was traded for 1.22 billion shares in 10,393 deals.

Top five gainers 

  • MRS share appreciated by N9.95 kobo to rise from N99.50 kobo to N109.45 kobo per share. 
  • Neimeth grew by N0.20 kobo, up from N2 to N2.20 kobo per share. 
  • Jaiz Bank ended trading with N1.98 kobo from N1.80 kobo per share, rising by N0.18 kobo. 
  • DAAR Comm gained 10 per cent to end trading at N0.22 kobo, having opened with N0.20 kobo per share.  
  • Dangote Cement’s stock was up by N30, closing at N330.10 kobo from N300.10 kobo per share. 

Top five losers 

  • Pharma Deko depreciated by N0.20 kobo, dwindling from N2.03 to N1.83 kobo per share.   
  • Union Dicon also declined by N0.85 kobo to end trading at N8.10 kobo, after opening at N8.95 kobo per share.   
  • Berger followed the same path, losing N1 after trading hours, to sell at N10 from N11 per share.   
  • Guinea Insurance reported a decline of 7.69 per cent from the previous day’s share price of N0.26 kobo to end trading at N0.24 kobo per share.   
  • Champion’s share depreciated to N4.35 kobo from N4.60 kobo, after losing N0.25 kobo during trading hours. 

Top five trading equities in the stock exchange 

  • FBN Holdings reported 198.22 million shares, valued at N4.41 billion, were traded on its floor.   
  • Universal Insurance recorded 184.65 million shares valued at N53.46 million. 
  • Sterling Financial saw investors trade 161.64 million shares valued at N724.33 million. 
  • Transcorp recorded 156.41 million shares exchanged on its floor, worth N706.91 million. 
  • AIICO reported 98.32 million shares, valued at N735.79 million, exchanged investors’ hands.
