Mohbad’s Death: Counsel Asserts Lack Of Evidence In Naira Marley’s Involvement

October 8, 2023
In an official letter dated October 26, signed by the committee's clerk, Yusuf Ibrahim, the House formally summoned both Naira Marley

In the wake of the tragic passing of Ilerioluwa Aloba, better known as Mohbad, on September 12, questions and speculations regarding his demise have swirled, with some suggesting the involvement of Afeez Fashola, popularly known as Naira Marley, his former record label owner.

However, Naira Marley’s lawyer, Olalekan Ojo, has vehemently denied any connection between his client and Mohbad’s untimely death.

Speaking in a video chat with Daddy Freeze, Ojo clarified that a viral video depicting a confrontation between Mohbad and controversial Lagos socialite, Balogun Eletu, aka Sam Larry, had been misinterpreted by the public.

He emphatically stated, “As for Naira Marley, I believe very strongly that no matter how hard you look, you will not find a single incident where he bullied him.”

Ojo went on to reveal that Sam Larry, Mohbad, and Zlatan, another musician present during the incident, had resolved their differences amicably. He explained, “Sometimes in June 2023, he (Sam Larry) came to Elegushi beach and heard some musicians were shooting a musical video, so he wanted to see who they were.

Remember that in that video, he said so it’s even you.” The lawyer also noted that there is a longer version of the video showing the trio sharing a meal of Amala together after the incident.

The lawyer’s statement serves to counter the prevailing rumours and assumptions surrounding Mohbad’s tragic death, shedding light on a different perspective that points away from Naira Marley’s involvement.
