On September 12, 2023, Nigeria and the global music community were stunned by the untimely demise of the incredibly talented Afrobeats artist, Mohbad.

In the wake of his passing, the charts are ablaze with Mohbad’s tracks, making him the most streamed artist on YouTube Nigeria in the tracking week of September 29 to October 5, accumulating an astonishing 2.3 million views.

Six of Mohbad’s songs have found their place on the TurnTable Top 100, a testament to the enduring appeal of his music. His EPs, ‘Blessed’ and ‘Light,’ are amassing staggering streaming numbers, with his single ‘Ask About Me’ ascending to the coveted No. 1 spot on the chart.

This resurgence isn’t limited to Nigeria alone; it has transcended borders. Tributes have been pouring in from around the world, with American rap luminaries Meek Mill, Lil Durk, and Kodak Black paying their respects to the late artist.
