Miracle In Ahmedabad: British Passenger Defies Death In Air India Crash, Over 200 Dead

In a shocking turn of events, a British passenger has emerged as the sole survivor of a catastrophic Air India crash that claimed the lives of over 200 people on Thursday.

The plane, a Boeing 787-8 bound for London, crashed into a residential area shortly after takeoff from Ahmedabad, India.

Vishwash Kumar Ramesh, a British national seated in seat 11A, miraculously survived the devastating crash. Ramesh, who was hospitalized and receiving treatment, recounted the terrifying moments leading up to the tragedy.

“Thirty seconds after takeoff, there was a loud noise, and then the plane crashed. It all happened so quickly,” Ramesh said, according to local reports.

The flight had 230 passengers from various countries, including 169 Indians, 53 Britons, seven Portuguese citizens, and one Canadian. The UK government has mobilized crisis response teams to support British nationals and their families.

King Charles and Queen Camilla expressed their shock and sorrow over the loss of life, while UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy confirmed that the FCDO is working closely with local authorities to support those affected.

This tragic incident has sent shockwaves globally, and investigations into the cause of the crash are underway, Prime Business Africa reports.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has visited the scene of the Air India plane crash in Ahmedabad and is meeting injured people in the hospital.

According to the airline, 241 of the 242 people on board the London-bound flight died. It is not yet clear how many people died on the ground.

Families have been given DNA samples to help identify the victims, according to a BBC report.
