Michael Jackson’s Former Wife, Lisa Marie-Presley, Dies At 54

Michael Jackson’s former wife, Lisa Marie-Presley, has died at age 54. The demise of the American songwriter on Thursday night was confirmed by the mother of the deceased,  Priscilla Presley. In an official statement, the mother called the death of her daughter devastating.

She wrote: “It is with a heavy heart that I must share the devastating news that my beautiful daughter Lisa Marie has left us. She however insisted on granting the family privacy so they could process the tragic loss.

“She was the most passionate strong, and loving woman I have ever known. We ask for privacy as we try to deal with this profound loss. Thank you for the love and prayers. At this time there will be no further comment”

The late Lisa was taken to a hospital in California after suffering a heart arrest. she was the only child of Elvis and Priscilla Presley.

In the 2000s, she had her own albums available and performed live.

Only on Tuesday, January 10, she was present for Austin Butler’s triumph for best actor in a drama for his role as her late father in Baz Luhrmann’s Elvis at the 2023 Golden Globes.

Her ex-husband Michael Jackson died on June 25, 2009.

Izuchukwu Okosi

Izuchukwu Okosi is a Nigerian sports and entertainment journalist with two decades of experience in the media industry having begun his media journey in 2002 as an intern at Mundial Sports International (MSI) and Africa Independent Television (AIT), owners of Daar Communications Plc. Okosi is a member of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), Association of Movie Producers (AMP), Association of Voiceover Artistes of Nigeria (AVOA), Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) and Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ). He has been part of cast in some Nollywood movies and radio dramas including Blood Money 2, Scores To Settle, Dead End 2, Another Campus Tale and Battle Line. Aside mainstream media and the entertainment industry, he has interests in scouting/unearthing of talents in the sports and creative sectors, exports business and property development.
