The Principal Magistrate, Wandia Nyamu who presided over the case described Karuiki’s act as inhuman and beastly.

Kariuki had during the church’s function contributed Sh100 before he saw the playing girl outside the church, and defiled her.

Nation media reported the magistrate saying, “Kariuki should be segregated from society because he harbours evil thoughts about girls and women.”

“The act of Kariuki making a contribution in a church function and defiling a toddler in the precincts of the house of God, shows that he has no respect for the rights of girls and women.

“This court and other courts in the country will not slacken, tire or sit and watch the rights of young girls and women being violated by men who have no respect for women” Nyamu stated.

It was reported that the 2-year-old girl’s scream was heard by her mother. She immediately dashed out to see what was happening and found the man holding onto her daughter.

The mother wailed while the church members rounded him, beat him, and handed him over to the Police.

Consequently, the child was rushed to Komarock Modern Hospital, where she underwent corrective surgery and counselling.
