Liga Releases Fixtures For 2022/2023 Season, El Clasico Slated For October, March

June 23, 2022

The fixture list for the 2022/23 edition of LaLiga Santander has been revealed after a draw was held by the Spanish Football Federation on Thursday afternoon.

Among the headlines were the dates for the Clasico, which will be held first at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu on Matchday 9, the weekend of October 16, with Carlo Ancelotti’s side looking for revenge for last season’s thrashing.

The return fixture will take place at Camp Nou on Matchday 26, on March 19th 2023.

The champions of Spain’s top two divisions come head to head on Matchday 1 on August 14th, as Almeria will welcome Real Madrid as their first visitors of the season.

Elsewhere, Barcelona will welcome Rayo Vallecano, after the visitors won the corresponding fixture last season, and Atletico Madrid will travel across the capital to play Getafe.

The first game after the World Cup will take place over New Year, with several derby fixtures lined up.

Barcelona will take on neighbours Espanyol, while Villarreal and Valencia face off and Cadiz do battle against Almeria.

Real Madrid will return to action with a visit to Real Valladolid, while Atletico will celebrate the new year with a home tie against Elche.

It’s a long way to Matchday 38 of the campaign, but there could be plenty to play for and many of Spain’s biggest clubs will come head to head for the final game of the season on June 4, 2023.

Real Madrid welcome Athletic Club to the Bernabeu, while Atletico will face Villarreal, Barcelona will travel to Celta Vigo and Sevilla play Real Sociedad in San Sebastian.
