Legendary Actress ‘Ovuleria’ Lizzy Evoeme Turns 79 Today, December 1

Legendary Nigeria actress Lizzy Evoeme known as ‘Ovuleria’ in the rested sitcom New Masquerade on Wednesday, December 1, 2021 turned 79 years old.

The Abia state born thespian whose father was a sea worker was born in 1942 in Calabar, Cross River state.
She began her career acting in a drama group called ‘NdiIchie’ where she auditioned for the role of Ovuleria in the New Masquerade.
Ovuleria was the wife of Chief Zebrudaya Okoroigwe Nwogbo alias 4.30 in the New Masquerade that also starred other stars like James Iroha (Giringory), Davis Offor (Claris), Claude Eke (Jegede Shokoya) and Apena (Christy Essien Igbokwe) among others.
The hilarious comedy that aired every weekday on the Nigeria Television Authority (NTA) began its production in Enugu in the 80s and was was on air until the 90s.
The role played by Ovuleria was that of a cocky wife who never relents in giving her husband difficult moments in the house.
Ovuleria was never a big fan of her partner’s big vocabularies, she was also demanding of her house keepers, the duo of Giringory and Clarus.

She also acted in Circle of Doom, a Nollywood blockbuster before travelling abroad.

Evoeme was once rumoured to be dead which turned out to be a false alarm.
