He stressed the need to simplify the scientific nature of climate change, highlighting the hands-on approach of the circular economy as an effective means of achieving this simplification.

Gbadegesin underlined LAWMA’s commitment to increasing awareness and education through its programs. The Special Adviser to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Climate Change and Circular Economy, Titi Oshodi, expressed gratitude for the collaboration, emphasizing the shared responsibility of tackling climate change.

Oshodi outlined OCCE’s goal to collaborate with stakeholders in the climate and circular economy ecosystem, aligning with the governor’s vision of achieving a zero-carbon Lagos by 2050.

Oshodi highlighted the three highest greenhouse gas-emitting sectors in Lagos—energy, waste, and transportation. She outlined plans to work with stakeholders in these sectors to drive advocacy and explore economic opportunities within the space.

The collaborative efforts between LAWMA and OCCE mark a crucial step towards creating a collective front to address the common challenge of climate change in Lagos.
