Lagos Police Parades 1,320 Hoodlums

The Lagos State Police Command has reeled out the achievements of the Command between May 2021 and July 2021, to members of the public.

The command paraded 1320 miscreants/hoodlums on Wednesday 14th of July 2021, who were raided across various hotspots within the state with dangerous weapons, hard drugs and weeds suspected to be Indian hemp.

The Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu, said “in furtherance of it’s efforts to promote effective Community Policing Ideals in the state, the Command has harnessed all available means of adequate and solid security systems in Lagos State including robust intelligence gathering system, multi-agency collaboration, forensic or scientific methods of investigation and constant engagement with stakeholders.

CP Hakeem Odumosu said 66 suspects were arrested for armed robbery, 72 suspected cultists were arrested, 47 murder suspects. 110 arms were recovered, 125 ammunitions of various calibers were recovered while 18 stolen vehicles also recovered.

The Command was able to within the period of May to July foil 46 cases of armed robbery in the state, charge 151 suspects to court among whom were 15 cultists/armed robbers.

Furthermore, Odumosu, said the Command is proud to highlight the following as part of cases treated:

  4. Rape                                                             2 cases
  5. Unlawful possession of fire arms           8 cases       5(suspects)

  8. Miscreants/Hoodlums raided                 1320
  9. 80 bags of weeds, suspected to be Indian hemp

The Command has further reiterated it’s commitment and determination to combat crime and criminality to a standstill within the state. The CP enjoined all Lagosians to be observant and also abide by the laid down rules and regulations of the state.

Parents and guardians were also advised to warn to their children and ward to desist from doing anything that can make them find themselves on the wrong side of the law.
