La Liga: Real Madrid Edges City Rivals In Derby

Real Madrid beat city rivals 10-man Atletico Madrid 2-1 in a fiesty Madrid derby on Sunday night to go six wins out of six games in the 2022/2023 season so far ahead of the international break.

Rodrygo gave Carlo Ancelotti’s side the lead when he finished inside the box after an intelligent scooped pass over the top from Aurelien Tchouameni 17 minutes into the match.

Federico Vervalde made it 2-0 in the 36th minute with a rebound after Vinicius Jnr’s shot was pushed to his path by the opposing keeper and it ended that way as the teams headed to the dressing rooms at half time.

Mario Hermoso reduced the arreas for Atletico when he headed into an empty net after Madrid keeper Thibourt Courtouis misjudged the flight of the ball.

However the hosts ended the game with 10 men late on as Hermoso was red-carded after his second bookable offenses.

Objects were pelted at Brazilian forwards Vinicius Jnr and Rodrygo while they danced in celebration of the latter’s goal.

He has been part of cast in some Nollywood movies and radio dramas including Blood Money 2, Scores To Settle, Dead End 2, Another Campus Tale and Battle Line.

Aside mainstream media and the entertainment industry, he has interests in scouting/unearthing of talents in the sports and creative sectors, exports business and property development.
