La Liga: Girona Continues Fine Form, Beats Alaves

Girona beat Alaves 3-0 Monday night to move back to the summit of the La Liga table with Artem Dovbyk scoring a brace as the surprise League leaders continue to defy the footballing world.

Dovbyk put Girona ahead with a header with Portu doubling the lead afterwards in the flest half.

Yan Couto was brought down inside the box and Dovbyk converted from the spot for his 10th goal of the season.

Girona are co-owned by the City Football Group that also includes Manchester City and are currently two points above Real Madrid.

Girona will face Real Betis in their next league game on Thursday and could be top of the log by Christmas if they win that contest.
