Chelsea reached the semifinals of the Carabao Cup Tuesday night as they defeated Newcastle United 4-2 on penalties.

Callum Wilson had put the Toons ahead in the course of the game but a last gasp equaliser cum forward Mykhailo Mudryk required the luck of shootouts.

Cole Palmer, Conor Gallagher, Christopher Nkunku and Mudryk were the penalty scorers for the Blues.

Newcastle are still ruing their Champions League exit despite their financial resources.
