Barrister Iyiola Oladokun, a former deputy governor of Oyo State, has found himself and his family without a home following the recent explosion in Ibadan on Tuesday night.
The explosion, which occurred at Dejo Oyelese Close in Bodija Housing Estate, impacted Oladokun’s residence, along with several others in the area.

A friend stepped in to provide temporary accommodation for him and his wife in the wake of the traumatic event. Oladokun expressed gratitude that he and his wife escaped physical harm during the explosion but lamented the loss of property worth millions of naira in their home.
He described the force of the blast, recounting how doors, burglaries, windows, and even the roof were severely damaged.

“We were just watching the football match when the explosion occurred. All the doors that were closed were forced open. It was very devastating. All the doors, burglaries, windows and even the roof have gone. We give glory to God that me and my wife were not hurt.” Oladokun said
Reflecting on the immediate aftermath, the deputy governor shared, “We couldn’t sleep here yesterday. We have to use our phone to move out yesterday. We had to find somewhere to sleep yesterday.”
