How To Qualify For El Salvador's Free Passport Program

El Salvador’s  President Nayib Bukele, has introduced an initiative offering 5,000 free passports to accomplished professionals worldwide.

This program, valued at $5 billion, aims to attract skilled individuals across diverse disciplines, ranging from scientists and engineers to artists and philosophers. These individuals will not only receive full citizenship privileges but also contribute to the nation’s progress and prosperity.

President Bukele emphasized the inclusivity and strategic vision behind this initiative, highlighting that the distribution of passports to skilled professionals represents less than 0.1% of the national population.

This move underscores El Salvador’s commitment to creating a diverse and inclusive environment while fully integrating these experts into society, including granting them voting rights.

In a statement, President Bukele articulated the significance of this program, stating, “Despite the small number, their contributions will have a huge impact on our society and the future of our country.”

To facilitate their relocation, El Salvador ensures zero tax and duty charges on moving families and assets, including valuable items such as equipment, software, and intellectual property.

President Bukele remains optimistic about the transformative impact these skilled professionals will have on El Salvador’s societal and economic landscape. While the number may seem modest, their influx is expected to catalyze significant advancements and innovations across various sectors. The government is committed to streamlining the relocation process for these professionals and their families, offering exemptions from taxes and tariffs on essential items.

These initiatives align with El Salvador’s vision of becoming a magnet for top-tier talent, attracting individuals seeking new challenges and opportunities. By fostering an environment conducive to innovation and development, the nation aims to position itself as a global hub for high-caliber professionals across all fields.
