How Osinbajo Betrayed Tinubu Over Presidential Ambition – Omokri

Human rights activist Reno Omokri has reacted to the declaration of Vice President Yemi Osinbajo to run for the 2023 Presidential election.

Osinbajo had been expected to express his intent and the announcement came on Monday 11 April as he stated his hopes to continue with President Muhammadu Buhari’s policies.

Osinbajo is considered to be a political godson of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and both men’s ambition to be the country’s leader has seen affiliations divided in the camp of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Tinubu while responding to a question from the media on the presidential ambition of Osinbajo, said he doesn’t have a son old enough to declare for the Presidential race.

The fiery Omokri considers Osinbajo’s presidential hopes as being inordinate when he spoke to Arise TV on Wednesday morning from his base in Canada.

“Disloyalty does not end well,” Omokri told Arise TV on The Morning Show monitored by Prime Business Africa.

“Osinbajo was put on the ticket as a placeholder by Bola Tinubu; and he’s betrayed him,” the outspoken Omokri reiterated.

Former Lagos State Governor Tinubu according to unconfirmed reports in some sections of the media may elect to defect from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to the Social Democratic Party (SDP) should Osinbajo succeed in currying the favours of the APC delegates and state governors.

On the spate of terrorism and banditry across Nigeria, Omokri opined that there will be solution to the security crisis unless there is a truce called by negotiation.

“Terror cannot be defeated by militarisation. It can only be defeated by negotiation,” Omokri said on The Morning Show.

To further butress his point on terrorism in Nigeria and the haplessness from the Federal Government, Omokri put out a tweet on the College of Science and Technology students in Zamfara state who were abducted.

The abduction of a fresh set of female students from the College of Health Science and Tech, Zamfara, while over a 100 Nigerians abducted by terrorists after the Abuja-Kaduna train bombing have not been rescued is further proof Nigeria does not have a government
